TESA is founded in Renens, Switzerland, during a period market by strong Swiss expertise in micromechanics and watchmaking.

Following World War II, the company becomes fully independent under the name TESA SA. This marks a clear strategic shift toward dimensional metrology and high‑precision measuring instruments.

TESA introduces IMICRO, a self‑centering 3‑point bore gauge that quickly becomes an industry benchmark for internal measurement accuracy and repeatability.

TESA joins the Brown & Sharpe Group, strengthening its international presence and industrial relevance, while maintaining Swiss engineering and manufacturing expertise.

Through the acquisition of specialized metrology brands such as Roch Rolle, Etalon, MAUSER, Mercer LTD. and Compac, TESA expands its portfolio and reinforces its leadership in precision measurement solutions.

TESA becomes part of Hexagon AB, integrating precision hand tools and systems into a global ecosystem for metrology, manufacturing intelligence, and quality assurance.

TESA evolves from purely mechanical excellence to digital and connected measurement systems, supporting production, inspection, and quality laboratories worldwide.  

Marking its 75th anniversary, TESA modernizes its manufacturing and development capabilities in Renens, reinforcing its role as a benchmark for Swiss precision and reliability.

Under the TESA Technology brand, the company delivers smart and reliable measurement solutions for demanding industrial environments—connecting tradition with digital innovation for the factories of today and tomorrow.
